What is Marketing Education?
When you see an advertisement on television, you see a message that was developed by marketing managers. When you surf the Net and shop online, the pages you see; in fact, your entire experience is designed by a marketing specialist. Every time a new product is introduced by a business, marketing researchers have helped make the decision to create it. Even the prices you pay for products and services are based on marketing decisions. Marketing involves identifying customer needs, developing new products, getting the products to consumers, and promotional elements like advertising, publicity, sales, and more.
The Marketing program at Sidney High School is a two-year program that will provide you with an understanding of the basic theories and concepts of marketing, and how to apply these theories in today’s business environment. You may take the entire program during your senior year but class size for this option is limited so you must apply early.
What are the Prerequisites?
Students interested in this program must meet the following criteria:
· Have at least a Junior status
· Secure a teacher recommendation
· Have completed Application/ Interview process
· Have a motivated interest in the Marketing field
· Have a notable GPA and attendance record
Earn College Credit through Sidney High School Marketing Education

As of the 2008-2009 academic school year, an articulation agreement will be in in place between Sidney High School and Edison Community College that will allow students to earn 4 to 10 college credits through their work in the Marketing Education Program.Articulation Agreement (draft copy)
