Sidney High School
Dear Yellow Jackets,
The top priority at Sidney High School is your education. We want this school year to be a pleasant and memorable one. As a staff, we will do our best to create a positive atmosphere in which all students may learn. To help create a safe and educational environment a student conduct code has been established. We believe very strongly in a “self-discipline” concept. We believe that students understand the behavior necessary for the school work place and expect them to conduct themselves accordingly while attending SHS or any associated school activity. This handbook has been provided to help familiarize you with the many programs, policies, and procedures that exist at Sidney High School.
As a student at SHS, you are encouraged to do your best in the classroom and to participate in some of the many extra-curricular offerings that tend to round out your education and help prepare you for the future. Your interest, enthusiasm, and participation in these programs will go a long way toward making this year interesting and enjoyable, as well as educational. We have made it our goal to encourage increased student participation in school events and activities.
We follow the belief that the principal’s office is not just a place from which students receive discipline. We are interested in helping students and encourage you to stop in for guidance on any matter or to offer suggestions which could have a positive impact for our school community.
